Spring Tablescape

Last week, I shared my amazing finds from a recent trip to Ikea. One of the (many) items I couldn't resist was a colorful spring tablecloth (at a steal- $15!) from their kitchen + dining section.

Since I've already spruced up my dining room table with my DIY potted clothespin planters, I thought it'd be fun to wave a magical spring wand across our kitchen breakfast table this time around. I usually prefer not to cover up our rustic table (which only has two chairs... I know, I've fallen slightly short of my goal to "collect" white chairs to put around the table), but I thought it was high time I make an exception for this fun spring tablecloth.

I usually opt for runners instead of tablecloths, but I thought this little guy could be perfect later in the season for outdoor entertaining or maybe even picnics in the park?!

I simply grabbed three old recycled glass bottles and filled them with some spring clippings from our yard. I chose all white so the flower colors didn't compete with the bright patterned tablecloth.

I love our azaleas and peonies! That's my first peony bloom of the year, by the way. It smells delish.

I'm loving the unexpected pop of color every time I walk into the room!

For those of you who like the big picture view... here's our little spring-ed out breakfast nook. I love how you can see our DIY garden wall in the background. All that foliage ties in nicely!

So there you have it. A cheap and easy spring table for $15.

Have you spring-ed out your house yet this season?

Our Thanksgiving Table

Welcome to my very first Thanksgiving table!

All of you should be proud... I've started thawing the turkey, I've done all of the grocery shopping and I've set my table for Thanksgiving! Just call me Suzy Homemaker. Come on, turkey day! I decided to keep the table simple and sweet- many people have told me that even though they're beautiful, one big mistake is to junk up your table with decor, which doesn't leave room for food and for your guests to eat comfortably. So simple and sweet I left it.

I used my everyday dishes (Portmeiron's Sophie Conrad in white and celadon from Macy's) and added the beautiful printed napkins (World Market) and a few natural elements to each place setting in the form of a pumpkin or pine cone. I think they work really well with my natural burlap runner (Target). I decided to save my "give thanks" cinnamon clove pumpkins to dress up the food table. The place cards are free printables from the Handmade Home.

I kept the centerpiece simple with tapered candles (World Market), a mason jar with fall flowers and my late grandfather's turkey gravy boat. Seriously though, how cute is that turkey? : )

We are not a formal bunch when it comes to Thanksgiving, so I think this simple and sweet tablescape will be the perfect setting for my family to give thanks to God for each other, the food and our happy lives.

Speaking of, I'll be back later this week to share the menu for our amazing feast!

Are you ready for turkey day too?

Thanksgiving Printables

Guess what? I bought a turkey yesterday. I had no clue what I was doing as I was wondering around the grocery store (hubs got a few phone calls- which brand do I buy? how big does it need to be? and now how do I carry this heavy 20 lb. turkey around the store?) and I certainly have no clue how I'm going to cook it... but the turkey is a sign that Thanksgiving is almost here (for the first time!) at the Ten June household! : )

While I was doing some creative research for my Thanksgiving table, I ran across so many amazing (and free!) printables out in blogland that I just had to share with my readers. Are you ready for some Thanksgiving cuteness?
