To My Baby Daddy

To the man I love more than anything in the world...

to the man who still brings me a glass of orange juice in bed every morning...

to the man who tells me I look amazing even when I'm six months pregnant...

to the man who was my safety patrol officer...
(if you don't know what that means, watch here)

to the man who pretends to love to talk about blogging just because it makes me happy...

to the man who I am quite sure will be the world's best father to our baby boy...

to the man who secretly read Hunger Games along with me (and loved every word)...

to the man whose smile lights up my life...

to the best life partner a girl could possibly have...

to the man who said to me "why don't you ever call me your baby daddy?"...

to the man who was my first crush and who will forever remain my last crush...

Cheers to an amazing four years behind us and a lifetime of love ahead of us. I love you! Times a million.

Trois Anniversaires

It's been three years, baby. Three years since David and I each said "I will" and jumped into this crazy life we call marriage. There's been lots of good times, a few bad times (I blame it all on the bathroom renovations, ha), but, most importantly... there's been us. No matter what we have to face or who stands in our way, we have each other. And for that, I will be eternally grateful.

David and I met when I was in third grade. No joke. He was that totally cool fourth grader with the bowl cut who wore Umbros every day and got to be the school crossing guard on Fridays. So hot. David asked me to the 4th grade/5th grade dance and I turned him down...  my diary tells me that I said "David asked me out on a date today. I said no. Ew, boys are gross." Don't worry, we blew that diary page up for our wedding!

Luckily, I outgrew that phase, and when I moved to Athens after graduating College of Charleston, the right time had finally come for David and I. We started dating on July 4th, 2005 and the rest is history... or fireworks ; )

The minister who married us asked us each separately, in our pre-marital counseling, what we wanted to say to the other on our wedding day. I'll never forget when I got to hear David's response to that question for the first time at our wedding altar, in front of all of our friends and family.

You were my first... and you'll be my last. You are my best.

And because I've never shared these before, here are a few pictures from our big day.

It was such a fabulous day. The weather was perfect, all two hundred of our closest friends and family attended and my florist fixed our wedding cake when it smashed to the floor during delivery. Oh yes. The one you see up there in the picture? Bought at Publix grocery store an hour before the reception... not my choice of cake at all! How hilarious is that?!

But, above all, I got to marry my best friend. Happy anniversary to my first, my last and my best. I love you!
