The Power of Paint: Kitchen Makeover Reveal

It has been a busy few weeks around our house, but I am excited to finally have some beautiful "after" pictures to share of our kitchen and breakfast room makeover!

Last week, I shared the big reveal of our freshly painted kitchen cabinets. They went from a dingy off-white to a fabulous stark white.

Before
After
As you can see, our second big step was to take that salmon pink/orangey color and transform it to a calming gray. The paint color is Behr's Mineral, a perfect mix of beige and gray. Which, if I might add, goes perfectly with it's new fresh white trim :) So here's the big reveal!

Before
After
Here are a few more shots of our shiny new kitchen.

Our view of the kitchen as you walk into the house from the front door.

Our breakfast room (picture taken standing in the same living room doorway). That beautiful wall of windows literally makes me happy every single day.

View of the kitchen from the breakfast room.

The back of our brick living room fireplace, which extends into our breakfast room.

Our newly painted cooking station (next to the brick fireplace).

Our new cabinets (again).

Every beauty needs her close ups.

And one more shot, for good measure.

So there we have it! It's amazing what a little paint will do! David and I are suppper happy with the results. We woke up yesterday morning, walked in the kitchen for our coffee and just smiled :) It is so much more "us." What do you think?

  12. A-Mazing!

I love love love it. Your kitchen looks a lot more open now and more crisp. It really makes other aspects of the room/area pop out a lot more [the white cabinets, granite, white molding/trim]. You did a great job!

  16. Thank you, ladies! We are thrilled with the results. And all of your sweet comments :) All the hard work (and almost a month of walking into a kitchen with drop cloths and paint buckets!) has paid off.

Debbie- the color on the walls is Behr's "Mineral." It's got a little bit of taupe in the gray, which works well with our counters. And it's the paint with primer- we didn't want to have to do 85 coats to get rid of the orangy-salmon color! It's a beautiful color.

  29. Hi Michelle; I found you through MM on BNOTP! I have to say that you already had me with the first kitchen! I had to look at it again, because that warm paint color was gorgeous too. But toggling back and forth, this really helps me to see what will happen when I repaint my kitchen. Suddenly with the new colors, your floors stand out beautifully. So do the windows (which I'm so jealous of) and it's just a much cleaner backdrop to your greenery (which adds so much). This is the color scheme I'm considering going with in my kitchen and living room but am still on the fence about it. Love what you did though and am following you now, and look forward to seeing more posts.

I hope you'll take a minute to look at my blog and consider following me too :)
