The Friday Jot List

Yeah, I'm a day late and a dollar short again. My Friday got filled up with enjoying the pretty weather with two adorable kiddos. Life's pretty good when you've got a weekend of beautiful spring weather ahead of you, isn't it?! Check out what's on my mind this fabulous weekend.

1. Birth announcements. We just got Little Lady June's birth announcements in the mail and I am in love! I can't wait to share these adorable Minted announcements with you next week. Here's a sneak peek!

2. One piece bathing suits. Since I'm only two months post-baby and arriving pretttty quickly on swim suit season, I've been shopping some reasonable one piece alternatives lately. I'm typically a sporty bikini wearer but I think this summer may need to be a one piece season if you know what I mean. Tankinis seem easier to wear, but I hate when the top looks baggy over the bottom. Here are a few of my favorite one piece options that I've found out there. Any other suggestions?!
floral bandeau from JCrew

By the way, JCrew has 30% off select styles online with the code GOSHOP. Get ittt.

3. My Fashion Snapshot. Believe it or not, someone out there finds me somewhat stylish! In fact, my dear friend Courtney asked me to participate in her "What's Your Fashion Snapshot?" series earlier this week. You can check out the post right here on her adorable blog, A Thoughtful Place.

4. Easter 2014. I hadn't shared any Easter pics yet here on the blog (you may have seen some if you follow me on Instagram- @tenjuneblog), so here are a few of my favs from the day! Our little family of four had the best day celebrating with both mine and David's families. It is such a blessing to watch our families love on our kids. Seriously, such a great feeling.

My brother-in-law took some awesome pictures of our little fam. So special! And yes, that's the best shot I got of the kiddos together... a certain someone doesn't hold her head up yet and a certain someone else was really excited about chasing down Easter eggs...psh, these kids don't know their momma's a blogger which is just as bad as paparazzi!

Alright friends, I hope you have a great weekend!

The Friday Jot List

Helllooo, my friends. Wow, this has been another doozy of a week for me. I know I pulled the sick card last week, but unfortunately it struck again this week. This momma somehow caught a stomach bug and went down for the count... while David was out of town for work and I was home with two babies by myself. Yeahhh, that was a good time. Think 2 AM, both little ones screaming, me hugging the toilet... mhmmm, good times were had by all.

Anyways, thanks to a ton of Gatorade and awesome help from family and friends, I am feeling mostly normal again. David is home. I can eat more than saltine crackers. All is right in the world. And I'm excited for what's supposed to be some gorgeous weather here in Georgia this weekend! Here's what's on my mind this spring Friday.

1. Old Navy fashion.

I popped by Old Navy at the end of last week and picked up some fun new spring things for the fam. I'm always a little wary because the quality of Old Navy clothes are pretty bad most of the time, but the styles are super cute and everything's so cheap, it's hard to pass up.

All dresses are only $15 right now, so I grabbed this adorable printed jersey dress. Heads up: the dress is pretty see-through, but I figured it will make a cute swimsuit cover up.

I also picked up a couple pairs of these boyfriend skinny khakis in this military green color and in white. Super cute mom uniform, for sure. I also grabbed a million t-shirts since they're cute and cheap and I go through them like wildfire since Little Lady June is quite the spitter upper.

HDawg got these cute shoes, which can only be described as the cool version of Crocs. LLJ got this sweet sun hat, but just a heads up, the 0-6 month size is a little large. I've bought her so many cute Old Navy things from their baby girl shop for summer, can't wait to dress her up!

Right now, they've got 15% off of everything online with the coupon code ONSAVENOW. Get ittttttt.

2. Oh Joy! for Target giveaway. I announced the winner right here! If you're the winner, you best be inviting me to this killer party. Was it you?

3. Creating With the Stars. Um, am I the last blogger on the planet to know about Creating With the Stars? For those of you living under a rock like me, it's pretty much the coolest DIY competition in all the land. Seriously, these bloggers are churning out some mad cool projects. Here are a few of my favs.

I know. These chicks are genius. Kudos, ladies! I can't wait to see the final round next week.

4. Spring wreaths. Looking for some ideas to spruce up your front door for spring? Check out my fun round up of adorable spring DIY wreaths right here.

Alright, friends. Have a great weekend! What are you up to? Any fun spring plans?

The Friday Jot List

Uh, the Saturday jot list?

Oops. This post was supposed to go up yesterday, but I had both kiddos home all day by myself for the first time. We had a ball and everyone survived, but the blogging most certainly did not get done!

So even though it's a little late, here's what's on my mind this lovely spring weekend.

1. Bloom workshop.

My sweet blog friend turned real life friend, Michaela, just announced that she is hosting an amazing workshop this summer: Bloom. The workshop, which focuses on blogging, business, photography and design (um, lots of my favorite things!) will be in Grand Rapids, Michigan this June. You can check out more about the event right here. I so wish I could go! But I do plan to be at the Haven Conference here in Atlanta this summer... are any of you planning on attending?!

2. Spring fashion.

I just picked up some fun new things for the fam at Gap. I snagged 40% off at the Friends and Family sale last week, but right now, they've got 35% off regular priced styles with the code word STYLE. Not too shabby.

For the kiddos, I picked up these shoes for HDawg and this bathing suit for LLJ. I definitely plan to get her some sort of ridiculously ruffled bikini, but this will be a nice, practical option for her : )

David picked up a few soft V-neck tees and this cute button up shirt.

For myself, I ordered this dress, which appears to be out of stock. Hopefully it will be a good every day dress to get me through spring! I also picked up these classic Chucks from Nordstrom to get me through those pre-flip flop warm days.

I think my little fam will be styling and ready for warmer weather!

3. Tuesdays at Ten June. Submit your favorite projects to me this weekend to be featured next week!

4. Monthly Clean Home Challenge.

Has anyone been following along with Jen's Monthly Clean Home Challenge? She added an extra task to her cleaning list for the month of March to help beef up her cleaning routine. Sort of an extra spring cleaning boost, if you will. And I am so inspired!

Right now, I'm trying to dig back into my weekly cleaning schedule that I created at the beginning of the year (as much as my three week old will let me!) but I plan to take Jen's challenge sometime soon. If I can get my act together, maybe in April? Okay, May. Maybe June. If you're lucky.

5. Smoothies.

Believe it or not, we have been without a blender for about a year. Ours broke months and months ago and for some reason, we just never replaced it until recently. I know, weird, right? It's amazing what a simple $40 kitchen appliance will do for ya. Anyways, David, HDawg and I are officially obsessed with smoothies now that we have a blender in the house again. It's our go-to snack these days. If you follow me on Pinterest, you'll see that I've been pinning some smoothie recipes onto my Food + Recipes board. Got any other good ones I should add?!

Have a great weekend, friends!

The Friday Jot List

I'm not gonna lie, friends... I've pretty much only got one thing on the brain this Friday. This sweet, squishy newborn face!

Our sweet girl is doing amazing- eating, sleeping and pooping like a champ.

Big brother is adjusting well, too. We're working on "gentle touches," but for the most part he's pretty smitten with "bebe!" Check out my first attempt at parenting all three kiddos (er, two plus a fur baby) while David took a work call yesterday!

Speaking of David, he and Little Lady June are already two (sleepy) peas in a pod.

Seriously scrumptious. I'm looking forward to a weekend of more snuggles, visits from friends and family and taking LLJ's newborn pictures!

And by the way, if you're wondering why I put a big watermark across my babies' faces when I share photos here on the ol' blog, I once had someone steal a picture of HDawg as an infant and claim on Facebook that he was her sick child. She set up an organization for his cause and everything... yeah, it was really creepy. Needless to say, a big phat "PROPERTY OF TEN JUNE" watermark now when I share kiddo pics, just so no other creepsters can steal or crop. Just an FYI so you don't think I'm some paranoid weirdo. Which I am, but that's okay with me. Momma bear to the rescue! ; )

Just a reminder... send me your Tuesday at Ten June submissions for next week! I've already got a few awesome entries but I'd love to feature you and your latest awesome sauce project.

Have a great weekend, friends!

The Friday Jot List

Happy Friday, friends! Let's dive right in to what's on my mind at the end of this week.

1. Gold or silver? Hello? Anyone out there? You guys are usually so opinionated when I ask for your two cents but I didn't get a lot of feedback on my gold versus silver lamp makeover dilemma that I shared earlier this week. I totally value your awesome opinions, so let me know what you think!

I guess I should probably explain my overall vision for the nightstand area to guide your thoughts. I originally planned to paint the nightstands a deep navy blue (I actually bought Benjamin Moore's Hidden Sapphire after seeing it on here on Danielle's blog) but now I think I'm more inspired by a grey stain. Maybe something like the Minwax Weathered Oak stain?

I feel like the stain will give me more diversity with the nightstands down the road more than the dark blue paint. But who knows. Maybe give me your thoughts on gold versus silver lamp bases with either the navy blue painted nightstands or the stained nightstands? Yes, that's perfect for the indecisive one in me : )

2. Around the web. I've posted a few fun articles on other blogs I write for around the Internet this week. I'd love it if you'd check them out!

on Houzz:

on ForRent:

on BabyCenter:

For any of you mommas to two or more youngins (or if you know any mommas to multiple youngins!), you'll love my BabyCenter article this week. Ooh and as a fun little bonus, there are a few never before seen photos of Little Lady June's nursery in the BabyCenter post! Be sure and check it out.

3. Tuesdays at Ten June. I'm already gearing up for next week's feature post. Send me your projects, photos, before/afters, kid-friendly posts, recipes and more and I'll feature you next Tuesday! As always, you can email me at tenjuneblog@gmail.com with the subject line "Tuesdays at Ten June" or you can tag your photos (don't forget to include your blog link, if you'd like!) on Instagram with #tuesdaysattenjune (and tag me @tenjuneblog too!). Can't wait to see what you're working with.

4. Baby watch 2014. For those of you who are wondering if Little Lady June has made an appearance yet, the answer is no! I can't even believe that it looks like I'll be seeing my due date on Sunday (March 2nd). I went into labor with HDawg at 38 weeks, 3 days, so this waiting game is definitely a change of pace for us!

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that we did make another trip to the hospital yesterday. Unlike the first two visits during this pregnancy where my doctors thought I was in labor (and it ended up only being false labor, of course), our visit yesterday was due to a little accident. H was riding on one of his toys and fell backwards off of it. To avoid watching the back of his head smash into the hardwood floors, I dove (like an idiot) to catch him. Oops. Momma's instincts. I ended up turning and catching most of my weight on my elbow and knee but the handlebar of his toy bruised the top of my belly. After extensive testing, we learned all is perfectly healthy with Little Lady. Thank God! She's just a little too comfortable in momma's belly ;)

With that said, I'm off to eat something spicy, take a long walk, get a pedicure and do all of the other fun old wives tales that people have recommended to me, ha! Have a great weekend!

The Friday Jot List

Hi friends! It's been quite the week for me so far, so let's dive in to see what's on my mind this Friday.

1. Hello, drama queen. I feel like Little Lady June may be quite the drama queen! Between her crazy switch-a-roo from a boy to a girl to what has now become a somewhat dramatic labor, this little diva is definitely all girl so far! We spent last week braving some major contractions through an ice storm. Luckily, the ice melted and my contractions slowed and we made it through last week happily. This week, David and I spent all day Wednesday at the hospital, after my midwife decided at my regular appointment that I was in labor! They admitted me to the hospital but released me that afternoon to go home and rest. So I woke up Thursday morning and the contractions had all but disappeared. Insane! I went into labor with H at 38 weeks, 3 days and today I'm officially 38 weeks, 5 days today, so this waiting game is all new to me! Needless to say, we will be spending this weekend hanging out and waiting for this baby to get here!

2. Sewing. I broke out the ol' sewing machine earlier this week to pop out a quick project for little miss. I had no clue how tough "minky" fabric is to work with (it's the blue dotted fabric in the photo... I mean, really, that stuff is impossible!) until after I had finished the project and put this quick pic on Instagram. So many of you lamented how tough the fabric is to sew. Well, now I'm glad it's not just me! Can't wait to share this project with you on Monday.

3. Spring. It feels so close! Yesterday, HDawg and I spent all day outdoors with my in-laws, trying to walk this baby out. He had so much fun exploring and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. I hope this weather is around to stay! Not only for the sunshine, but the spring fashion, too! Pretty soon, I can actually fit into something other than David's XXL work out tees and basketball shorts. Like maybe some of these....

I love spring fashion... it's so fun to mix cool and warm weather pieces.

4. Tuesdays at Ten June. Don't forget to submit your projects to me for next week! I've already got a few awesome things lined up- your project, recipe or room makeover could be included, too!

That's all I've got for today. Have a great weekend!

The Friday Jot List

Wow, it's Friday! Where did this week go? It's been a fun but busy week for me with some career-related fun, a parent-teacher conference for HDawg (yes, at 17 months!), an OB-GYN appointment for me (LLJ is looking great now at almost 37 weeks!) and some last-minute preparations like packing our hospital bag. Lots of exciting things going on around here. As we wrap up the week, here are a few things on my mind.

1. Baby Gap done done it again. Have you seen their new Paddington Bear collection for the wee ones? As a soon-to-be mom of two under two, I pretty much want everything in this whole collection.

I mean, seriously. I could go on forever. And don't worry, Gap has 30% off right now with discount code TREAT. Run, don't walk! Or waddle if you're me.

2. Sip & see party series. I am super excited about the new series I just started over on BabyCenter. I'm hosting a party! Seriously- a sip and see party! Over the month of February, I'll be sharing tips, ideas and a whole bunch of party photos so that you, too, can host a fabulous sip and see party. Don't know what a sip and see party is? I'll explain it all to you! This week, I shared some ideas and tutorials for several DIY party decorations. Here's a sneak peek, but check out my entire tutorial post right here!

3. Tuesdays at Ten June. Don't forget to send me your features for next week's Tuesday post! Email me at tenjuneblog@gmail.com or tag on Instagram at #tuesdaysattenjune. Can't wait to see what you're working with.

I've got another fun baby shower for LLJ this weekend thrown by my beautiful friends. I can't wait to celebrate her and spend time with my loved ones! In pink, of course : ) As always, follow me on Instagram (@tenjuneblog) to keep up with all of the fun. Have a great weekend!

The Friday Jot List

After being snowed in since Tuesday afternoon, it oddly doesn't feel like a Friday around here! But I'm okay with that. Snow days are the best, especially when you're safe and warm at home. And now basically we've got one work day and then a fun weekend ahead of us! Here's what's on my mind today.

1. Baby girl. I mean, what's new. Ever since we found out that baby numero deuce is a girl just a few weeks ago, David and I have had some major pink on the brain! Besides a few small tweaks, the nursery is just about finished. And I'm kind of in love. One part sweet baby pink, one part little girl hot pink and one part gold glam, this is going to be one sweet room!

David and I have also started the final prep work... setting up the bassinet and the swing, installing the infant carrier car seat, packing the hospital bag, starting sweet girl's (mostly blue!) laundry.... I'm almost 36 weeks so this little girl could be here before we know it!

Don't worry, HDawg is still getting a ton of love, too. We finally hung some art in his bedroom during our snow day! Hellooooo, gallery wall.

2. Valentine's Day. It's coming up in just a couple of weeks! I went crazy decorating our house yesterday... sike. I swiftly cut out three (misshapen and mismatched) felt hearts and pinned them to my DIY yarn wreath. I love using this wreath throughout the winter. It's pretty versatile from Christmas to St. Patty's Day. And even though my little hearts are kind of a joke (that's some hardcore crafting right there, ha!), they are pretty cutesy.

Don't forget, if you're looking for a fun Valentine's Day card for your little one, feel free to use my "main squeeze" Valentine's Day printable! A PDF sheet is available for you to download for personal use. I can't wait to share these with HDawg's classroom.

3. Tuesdays at Ten June. Submit your projects! Don't forget. Recipes, kid projects, room makeovers, tablescapes, holiday DIY's, crafts, decor updates... you name it, I love it. Send me your projects to be featured next week via email at tenjuneblog@gmail.com or tag your photos on Instagram at #tuesdaysattenjune (and tag me @tenjuneblog if you want, as well!).

4. Around the web. I've had a few articles go live elsewhere around the web this week. Check 'em out!

5. My weekend. As soon as we found out we're having a little girl, my sweet friends and family came together quickly and decided to throw us a baby shower! My family shower is this weekend and I couldn't be more excited to shower Little Lady June with girly things. I'll also be finishing (hopefully!) up some small tweaks in her room. I can't wait to share everything with y'all!

Follow me on Instagram at @tenjuneblog to follow all of the fun!

6. Super Bowl food recipes. If you're looking for a fun and easy recipe for the big game, check out one of my all time favorites- a spicy sausage and cheese dip! YUM!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!
