Scenes From A Fall Weekend

Sigh. What a fabulous weekend. While I always love the fall season every year, this year, it has new meaning for our family. After a long, crazy summer, this fall season has been a time to hit refresh for us. The crisp weather, the upcoming holiday season... it all seems like a new start for us. Needless to say, I have enjoyed every single moment of this fall and settling into our new house and new town!

This weekend, we had some very "fall" moments... lots of pumpkin! HDawg rocked a pumpkin hat to school, I baked a pumpkin + chocolate chip bread for a cookout with friends and we painted pumpkins with H to prep for this week's Halloween festivities!

On Saturday, David, H and I went to a fall festival in our new neighborhood. We had a really great time, but it didn't help that HDawg was ready for a nap. We tried to get him to enjoy his first pony ride and, well, he wasn't really having it. David snapped this hilarious shot of H practically falling asleep on the pony!

We totally enjoyed the cooler weather and even lit our first (fake) fire of the season! I'm not gonna lie, gas logs aren't as fun as real logs, but it's super cool to be able to flip a switch and turn this fire on at our new place!

I also finished up my projects for the Home Depot Holiday Style Blogger Challenge! I can't wait to share with you guys. It was slightly chaos in my living room... combining the current Halloween/fall decor I have up with a ton of fun Christmas decor = holiday madness! : ) While I originally thought I'd keep the Christmas decor up through the end of the year, I decided yesterday morning that it had to come down until after Thanksgiving. Like I said, we're enjoying our fall and will wait and look forward to Christmas when it comes that time!

So there you have it, our fun fall weekend. What were you up to this weekend!?

Psst! Don't forget to send me your Tuesdays at Ten June projects for tomorrow!

Scenes From Our Weekend

This weekend, we had one of those weekends with no plans. Literally, not even one plan on the books. It was kind of amazing. There was lots of sleeping in, going to bed early, taking our time and enjoying life. Like I said, after a crazy work week filled with hustle and bustle, it was kind of amazing.

It has seriously been raining here in Atlanta every day for like, a year. Well, more like the last two weeks, but still. Not weather that I'm used to. I'm ready to enjoy some sunny pool or lake days! In between showers this weekend, we had brunch with my brother-in-law at General Muir, which is a super cute deli in Atlanta.

HDawg finally got to play in some sunshine at the park. He was in heaven!

In between rain showers, I also played with my new Lulu & Georgia outdoor rug that I shared here. Unfortunately the new table cloth I bought for the patio furniture didn't work with the rug, so I'm back to square one. But that rug is flyyyyyyyy. I'll tell you what, I love this thing!

Our neighbors brought us over some tomatoes and peppers from their vine. Hellooo fried green 'maters!

We spent the rest of the weekend doing some shopping for David. He rarely shops, but when he does... phew, it's a process. Cough, picky, cough. HDawg and I fell asleep in more than a few fitting rooms.

Oh and I almost forgot... I spent a good part of the weekend getting my party prep on for HDawg's first birthday party! Believe it or not, that's just around the corner at the end of August. Crazy, right? Here's a sneak peek at his invitations.

Don't forget to submit your #tuesdaysattenjune projects for tomorrow! I've already got a great handful of projects I can't wait to share. You can either email them to me at tenjuneblog@gmail.com (please put "Tuesdays at Ten June" in the subject line!) or tag them with #tuesdaysattenjune for everyone to see on Instagram.

I hope y'all had a great weekend, as well! Happy Monday.

Sunday Sneak Peek

Georgia won, the weather is fabulous and I've been doing a whole lot of little retail therapy. I think it's been a successful weekend so far! What have you been up to this weekend?

Boogity, Boogity!

I never thought I would say this... but, I love NASCAR.

Last Christmas, my family got my dad a NASCAR "Driving Experience." Basically, he got the chance to sign up to drive a real NASCAR on a real NASCAR track! Perfect for a big racing fan, right?! It was actually pretty difficult to get on their calendar, so his December gift turned into a July happening.

We headed down to the Atlanta Motor Speedway early Saturday morning (read: EARLY! As in, check in was at 7 AM and it was 1.5 hours from my parents' house.... 5:30 AM was EARLY!). But it was totally worth it. We had the best time watching my dad train and then race around the track at 150 miles an hour.

Yes, this is actually him driving around the track!

I'm pretty sure he was in heaven.

And don't worry, we yelled out SHAKE & BAKE!! about a million times : ) Ricky Bobby, baby.

mom & pops

It was a fabulous day, especially when my dad told us that this was the best gift he's ever gotten!!! : )

Hope all of you had as fun as a weekend!
