Back on Track

My life is now back on track.

Why, you ask? Because Season 15 of the Bachelor started tonight!

Only kidding. Kind of. I definitely watch that trashy show but it's not why I'm back on track.

I'm back on track because we jumped back into our bathroom remodel last weekend!!

That's where I am sure most of you are saying: WHAT bathroom remodel?

I know, I'm kind of embarrassed. Many of you who are new around Ten June (welcome!) most likely didn't even know that, last September, David and I started a renovation of our master bathroom. And, um, we pretty much haven't it touched it since last October!! I promise we have good reasons why we haven't had a chance to revisit the renovation (let's see: some reasons involve dollar signs, many reasons involve both mine and David's ridiculously busy work schedules, then of course there was our kitchen paint project, the holidays, our ten day trip out west... my excuses could go on for days!).

Needless to say, I've been staring at a tarp duct taped to my bathroom door for the last two months.
The life of a DIYer, right?!

For those of you who missed out on the bathroom reno details last fall, here are the highlights:

(1) our yellow submarine bathroom before we moved in,
(lots of weird cabinets and a large closet in the middle of the room)

(2) bathroom demolition, started September 2010

ps. nope, not missing that 1980's ivy contact paper!!
pps. nice cheesy tank top, Michelle!

(3) even more demolition with an awesome demolition hammer,

 ,

(4) clean up of all of the demolition mess,

and (5) a big ol' tarp across the bathroom door in my bedroom for the last two months.

While it's pulled loose in this picture, trust me, that sweet little tarp was taped as ridiculously tight as possible while we weren't working on the bathroom. We took many precautions like the tarp (including masks, safety goggles and other super cool things), so that we were sure we were keeping our home and ourselves sanitary and safe from things like concrete dust and potential lead based paint.

Love that tarp. I'll miss it when it goes.

And one more recap: my bathroom inspiration file

Okay now that I've got you all caught up, I'll share more tomorrow about where we are today
 in our little renovation adventure.

  3. Oh yes. . . we know the unfinished project around here. WOW! That is a big undertaking. I am so impressed. You guys are awesome. I am sort of sad to see the "yellow submarine" tile go, but in time I will get over it. The inspiration photos are fantastic. {so glad I just read your post so I can DVR the bachelor . . .not ashamed to admit I watch, too!}

  4. What a brave couple you are... you know they say if your relationship can last through a major renovation it can make it through anything. I will be doing some bathroom demo in 2011, but it will be at my in-laws house not mine :)
