Two Months: A Baby HDawg Update

Believe it or not, but almost eight weeks have gone by since my little bambino made his arrival into the world. And don't fret, he's still the cutest kid that ever did live. I'm sure of it.

I have no clue how much he weighs right now (he was up from his 7 lbs. 2 oz. birth weight at his two week appointment to 8 lbs. 6 oz. already!), but we head back to the doctor next week for his two month appointment, so I'll find out then. Fingers crossed the little guy takes his first round of vaccines well! Actually, fingers crossed that this momma takes his first round of vaccines well... my heart is already breaking for him. I'm going to need either a bottle of wine or a bag of chocolate (or both!) to get through that appointment!

Baby boy's hobbies include being the cutest baby in the world (no, I don't stop saying that), kicking and waiving his arms frantically while wearing cute dinosaur slippers, being a rockstar at lifting his head up at tummy time (and really all the time!) and making ridiculously adorable faces.

Oh and he's also really talented at looking super cute while wearing stripes.

Seriously though, he's the best kid. He rarely cries unless he really needs something- a diaper change, an upset tummy, nap time. We think we have his acid reflux under control and I've even started to incorporate some dairy items back into my diet. Must. Have. Cheese. Small doses don't seem to upset him, which is great. He's still eating like a champ... and pooping like a champ. Yes, I just talked about pooping on my blog. Holla.

It's truly amazing how much you can fall in love with one little human. David and I realize we love the little guy more every single day. He's such a sweet kid, just like his daddy. I'm one lucky girl!

Me and HDawg are settling into a great schedule but I will be going back to work (part-time, to begin) in five or six weeks. I am praying that will be an easy transition... even though I'm already dreading it since I plan to continue to breastfeed and I sort of think pumping is the devil.

Speaking of the devil, I see sweet baby H stirring on his video monitor. I'm off to feed him and steal some kisses! You guys have a great Tuesday!

  1. Oh so adorable! I miss that newborn stage sometimes as I'm watching my toddler.

I've found the best thing with them getting shots is to act like it's no big deal. And if they are nursing, do that. Or I've heard a bit of sugar water on a pacifier also surprisingly works. The only time my daughter freaked on getting her shots was when the nurse acted like it was going to be difficult. She even had me tearing up. So even though it sounds hard-hearted, acting like it's nothing is the way to go. Kids pick up so much from us on how to behave sometimes.

  2. I hate pumping, too! It does make me feel better about going to work knowing that I'm providing for my baby girl in that way.

  4. Michelle, he is such a cutie! :) Maybe ask his pediatrician ahead of time about anything you can do (pacifier, Tylenol, etc) about the shots. I had to pump exclusively with both of my girls (6 months with the first and 7 months with the second), and yes, it stinks! But they make a really cool "hands-free" bra thingie now so you can read a magazine or something while you pump. I didn't know about those and was stuck just sitting there for 10-15 minutes each time. Blech!

  8. Definitely nursing right after he gets shots is the way to go. And the pumping at work has gotten easier. It's all worth it...especially when you have a sweet little face like Baby H's!! xx

  14. He is such a sweetheart. I hope you do well with the shots. It's harder for us than the babies. It helped a lot the second time when I fed him while getting the shots. He seemed to bounce back better.
