Saying Goodbye to Our Old House {An Empty Tour}

Before I dive into sharing more of our new rental house with y'all, I thought it'd be appropriate to bid adieu to our sweet old house. As we cleared out the final load of our belongings last weekend, I walked around and snapped a few pictures of the empty house. It was definitely bittersweet!

One of my favorite rooms in the house is our kitchen/breakfast room. We were lucky to inherit most of it's renovated beauty and all we really did to the space was to refinish and paint the cabinets.

 Here's our beautiful "slate room"/living room we refinished last summer, just in time for HDawg's arrival. I spent soooo many hours in this room with sweet baby H, it is definitely a special place.

 And we can't forget our dining room. I'm still madly in love with those navy walls and that suburst mirror.

The guest bedroom is sitting empty, filled with furniture that we plan to sell or eventually put in storage.

We're also leaving behind the furniture in the master bedroom. Can you believe this room actually used to be covered in BB gun holes? Crazy talk.

Heyyyyyyyy, HDawg!

So when I said the kitchen/breakfast room was my favorite room in the house, I lied. The master bathroom for shizzle wins that category. We had so much blood, sweat and tears poured into that renovation!

And last, but definitely not least, is our sweet bean's nursery. It looks so different empty, doesn't it?

If you want to check out more of this amazing casa, head over to my house tour page. The tour desperately needs to be updated, but it gives you a huge peek into our beautiful old home.

And if you know anyone who is looking to buy a fabulous home north of Atlanta, send them my way!

We are so sad to be leaving this beautiful home behind, but are ready to start a new chapter of our lives in our new rental home. Hopefully we can sell the house soon and get started on buying a new dream home. Until then, we're excited to be settled into the rental house, who I know is excited to make its blog debut. Stay tuned!

  1. Aww!! I am so sentimental--hahaha. I know that is hard! BUT--having more time with you hubby has to make it all worthwhile. :) Beautiful navy dining room and kitchen.

  3. Out of all seriousness...how far north are we talking? Im guessing pretty far if David had a 2 hour drive (but then again that means NOTHING in Atlanta)

    I ask because we are starting our home search TODAY and well your house is fabulous!

  4. We just moved too -- sad to see it empty, and so bittersweet to move on. It was our little guy's first place too -- his nursery was hardest for me to leave. That said, I can't wait to see how your new place comes along!

  12. It looks so different empty without all your beloved items and furniture. Just goes to prove that what turns a house into your home is all the things and people that you love in it! Good luck with the final move :)

  15. Did you all lay marble tile in your bathroom or was that the tile that looks like marble? We are in the process of re-doing our bathroom. I have carrera marble going on the vanity and wondered about the floors. i was told marble floors are too slick, that I don't want marble tiles...just curious with your experience....

  16. So excited for you! I loved the empty house tour and linking back to your previous room projects. H-dawg's nursery was gorgeous, just think you get to make his new room different but just as comforting and beautiful for him. I'm looking forward to reading about your new temporary place and house hunting adventures!
