Slate Room {Living Room} Makeover: Light, Bright and Freshly Painted!

I know I told you about the plans for the makeover here. And even gave you a sneak peek of the painting action that was going on in the room here. But today, I've finally got some full-fledged "after" pictures to share with you!

Button your bonnets, friends, because this is one incredible paint makeover!

Helloooooo to that beautiful, light, bright and airy space I dreamed of in my inspiration for this room! A drastic change from the muddy brown/orange look we had going in here previously.

Don't forget that even the ceilings had to be painted!

The paint color is the same that we used in our kitchen makeover- Behr's Mineral, in Eggshell. It's the perfect grey-beige color, in my opinion. Also, it really opens the house up to carry the same color through a few of the main rooms.

Oh wall of windows, how I love you. Even with a big trash bag sitting in front of you.

Needless to say, David and I are head over heels for the results. We can't wait to get settled into this room and have a new living room/baby play room space (like we talked about here) for our pea pod!

Whatcha think?!

SLATE ROOM MAKEOVER TO-DO LIST:
1. Paint the room, including ceiling, walls and trim.
2. Move living room furniture into the room.
3. Potentially buy a new sofa/ sectional.
4. Purchase a new console table.
5. Purchase a new rug to anchor the baby's play area.
6. Decorate/accessorize the room.
7. Add window treatments.

  2. This is such a drastic change. It looks so much better, and I love the color. How smart you are to start planning for a play space now! When we had our first child we figured we had all kinds of time to work on a play area because the baby wouldn't be taking up too much room in the beginning. How wrong we were, with baby comes lots of toys that need to be stored and when the baby was ready to have a true play room, we were so exhausted from lack of sleep, while putting something together it was awful. Great work! Cannot wait to see the other changes.

  8. I love the light paint. It really makes the room look wider and the ceilings so much higher. I don't understand why people paint ceilings so dark. When we moved into our apartment 3 yrs ago all the slanted ceilings were painted the same poo-brown as the walls. Thankfully our landlord didn't care if we painted. So all the ceilings got painted white and the walls got a variety of colors.

  10. I LOVE this color. It's similar to a shade of grey that I'd like for our kitchen. What do you think of that color in a kitchen?

Can you share what colors and brands you used? You may have posted them somewhere but I can't find them so I apologize if it this is a repeat question.

    Thanks so much!
